Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 30, 2026
This Policy explains how Whole Life, LLC handles information when you use Sintera. It does not treat your use of Sintera as consent to the separate policies of our processors. For the rules that govern the Service, see our Terms of Service. Questions can be sent to help@getsintera.com.
tl;dr (Too Long; Didn’t Read)
Your privacy is our business model. We do not trade your information. As an independent company (Whole Life, LLC), our only allegiance is to our members, not to external investors or advertisers. This independence empowers us to prioritize ethics and safeguard your private thoughts above all else.
Encryption: Your writing is fully encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2 or greater).
AI & Privacy: “End-to-end encryption” (where the server sees nothing) is technically impossible to use with AI at the moment, as the AI systems need to process the text to generate insights. Sintera and its external AI providers never use your journal content to train models, improve public models, or target advertising.
The “Sintera” Patterns: We use a specialized graph database (Neo4j Aura) to find hidden patterns in your journey. Crucially, we do not store your raw journal entries there. We only store derivatives—abstract patterns, mathematical vectors, and encrypted insights—obtained via AI. This allows us to connect the dots without storing your raw secrets in the graph.
Data Hosting: All your core data is securely hosted on Google Cloud Firestore (US).
You own your data. You can export your data or delete your account at any time.
Analytics: We use PostHog to understand how people use our public website and our app. On the marketing site this may include analytics cookies, heatmaps, and session recordings with text masking enabled. We never share your journal content with PostHog.
Payments & Messaging: We use Customer.io for messaging. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and Stripe to process payments securely.
We strive to collect the minimum amount of information required to operate our services.
1. Introduction
Whole Life, LLC (website: getsintera.com & app: app.getsintera.com) appreciates your trust. We are a Delaware-based company creating products and services focused on self-reflection and mental clarity. Please read this Policy to understand our practices and your choices.
2. Data Collection & Infrastructure
2.1 Data Storage (Core)
Our application runs on Google Cloud Functions. Primary account, journal, settings, and product-state records are stored in Google Firestore.
Location: United States.
Security: Google Cloud adheres to ISO 27001, SOC 2, and other industry standards. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
2.2 Pattern Recognition (Neo4j Aura)
To power the “Sintera” feature (finding patterns in your life), we use Neo4j Aura directly.
Privacy Guard: We do not store your raw journal text or personal narratives in Neo4j.
Derivatives Only: We only store derived information (abstracted data points and encrypted vectors) obtained via AI. These derivatives are always obscured or encrypted to ensure that the database contains only mathematical relationships, not your readable story.
2.3 External Artificial Intelligence Processing
Sintera sends only the content needed for the feature you request to external artificial intelligence providers. This may include onboarding answers, journal text, audio, and the selected coach or template context. We use this content to create prompts, transcriptions, deeper questions, completed entries, analyses, insights, patterns, quotes, and images.
OpenRouter: Our gateway for text, embeddings, analysis, and image processing. OpenRouter may route a request to different underlying model providers, but Sintera only permits routes that comply with our no-training, denied-data-collection, and Zero Data Retention requirements.
ElevenLabs: Our direct processor for audio and transcription. Sintera sends these requests with Zero Retention Mode enabled so audio and transcripts are not kept by ElevenLabs after processing.
Our non-negotiable rule: Neither Sintera nor these AI providers may sell your content, use it for advertising, train a model with it, or use it to improve a public model. AI-provider processing is temporary. A change of an underlying model inside OpenRouter does not change these purposes, data categories, or protections.
On native iOS, this processing is disclosed beside the account-creation controls. Selecting an account-creation action authorizes the processing described here. Existing accounts and accounts created outside native iOS are recognized as authorized. You can withdraw authorization from Profile → Privacy and data → AI processing. Withdrawal stops future AI transfers on every platform. You can still write and save drafts, and you can reactivate AI processing from Settings or when you next select an AI feature.
2.4 Product Storage Is Separate From AI Processing
Google Firestore: Stores account data, journal entries, settings, and product state while your account is active so Sintera can provide and sync the Service.
Cloudflare Images: Stores generated or uploaded image assets associated with your account until you delete the asset or your account.
Neo4j Aura: Stores abstract pattern relationships and protected derivatives, not raw journal entries, while your account is active.
Zero Data Retention for AI providers does not mean Sintera deletes the entries, drafts, images, or derived product data that you ask Sintera to save. Those records follow the product retention and deletion rules below.
2.5 Analytics
We use PostHog to track interactions across our public website and our application. On the marketing site, PostHog may also capture analytics cookies, heatmaps, and session recordings so we can understand which parts of the site help or hurt conversion.
Note: No sensitive data (e.g., journaling content, freeform reflection text, or insights) is shared with or processed by PostHog. Recordings and heatmaps are intended for the public website, not private journaling surfaces.
2.6 Messaging
We use Customer.io to manage our transactional emails (e.g., password resets) and product updates. We store your email address securely here.
2.7 Payments
We use Stripe as our payment processor and RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements.
Security: We do not store your credit card information directly on our servers. All financial transactions are processed securely by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant), the Apple App Store, or the Google Play Store. You can find Stripe’s privacy policy at
.
3. Use of Personal Data
We use your personal information in the following cases:
Verification/identification of the user during website usage.
- Providing technical assistance and customer support.
Sending updates to our users with important information.
Generating AI insights and visualizing patterns (via Neo4j) to make your experience personal.
Guaranteeing overall performance and administrative functions run smoothly.
4. Retention, Authorization, Export, and Deletion
Retention: We retain your data as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. OpenRouter and ElevenLabs process AI content under the zero-retention restrictions described in Section 2.3.
AI authorization: Withdrawing AI authorization stops new third-party AI processing but does not delete your saved drafts, cancel a subscription, or delete your account. Reactivation permits new processing.
Export: You may export your journal and account data, including your current AI authorization record and its minimal audit history, by contacting help@getsintera.com.
Deletion: You may delete your account at any time through app settings. Account deletion removes account data in Firestore, associated images in Cloudflare Images, derived graph data in Neo4j, and AI-authorization records, subject to limited records we must retain by law.
We require processors that receive personal information to provide the same or equivalent protection described in this Policy and to process it only for Sintera’s instructions.
